As a student at Rutgers University NJ, I have classes on more than 1 of the 5 local campuses (located within maybe a 5 mile radius). Instead of taking the bus to another campus, I decided to drive, its much quicker that way. So here i am on my way, I'm maybe 10 mins ahead of time, so im in a good mood....ill actually be on time for class. I had to pass through the smallest corner of a little town called Highland Park, which is one of those towns where the cops have nothing better to do. So today, they decided to set up a road block and do inspections. And of course the donut eater tells me to pull over...I kindly inform him that I have an important class to attend and I will be late if I dont go now. He tells me "I can go anywhere I please when they're done" so here i am getting very pissed, I repeatedly tell him (getting a little more assertive each time) that i MUST go NOW and he's making me LATE. So he tells me to step on my accelerator, and says "my exhaust is loud and i must have a leak". I inform him that my aftermarket edelbrock exhaust is 50 state legal and there is nothing wrong, but he gives me a ticket anyway. I hate cops and the way they harass you...they should change their motto... "To apprehend and harass"

Fight the ticket, when you go in, ask the officer (if he shows up) how he determined that the exhaust was illegal or leaking. If he said it was too loud ask him how far away he was when he measured the exhaust note and what the decibal reading was. Most likely you will be in front of a magistate first. Do the same, he'll try and offer a settlement on the ticket, refuse and go see the judge. You most likely got the ticket for your presumed 'attitude'. Some officers like people to be very passive and not annoy them, and rpeatedly telling him that he was wasting your time would not have flown well.

Hah, I just missed an inspection roadblock in East Brunswick! Know where the Rt18 Flea Market is, and how that road crosses over the highway? I was heading towards Rt18 from EB, and a cop was stopping everyone, waving some to keep going, and some to go into a side lot.
He looked at me, stopped me, waved me on, stopped me again with a "WAIT!", then said "Ah go ahead." And I was on my way to a junkyard to get parts to fix the SES light staring me in the face.
Don't they have some criminals to catch? Definately fight that ticket, and I'm sure you can either get documentation from Edelbrock, or use the info that came with the exhaust, as proof in court of it's legality.
