Forged 383 Pistons...

I'm looking to build myself a late model 383 out of an L98 block. I've got a set of L98 Vette heads with 58cc combustion chambers. This makes piston selection difficult because with such a tiny chamber, the compression is astronomical with anything other than a dished piston. So, does anyone know of a forged dished piston for a 4.03" bore/3.75" stroke engine w/ 5.85" rods?

You'll most likely have to go custom. BRC, JE, Arias, and Ross, all make custom pistons.

I've had great luck with JE.

What kind of cost would I be looking at for a set of custom pistons? This engine project is already pushing the theoretical limits of my budget...

P.S.
What's the deck height on a stock L98 engine block?

Stock deck height is 9.025 for a small block Chevy. - I'm pretty sure Ross sells a 4.03/3.75/5.85 piston for around $480 - If you're trying to go on the cheap - TRW might make a 4.03/3.48/6.0 piston - it'll have a wrist pin location close enough (.015 difference) that you could run it -- 5.85 + (3.75/2) = 7.725 -- VS --- 6 + (3.48/2) = 7.740 the 350/6" piston
