Passing the sniffer......... how can it be done?
Passing the sniffer......... how can it be done?
I'm kind of guessing/praying that my car will pass once it's thrown back together, but who knows since I am still undecided on the head/cam combo.
But what I'm curious about is whether or not there are different standards to be met for our 3rd gens and for 4th gens? Such as - would my 1991 RS 305 TBI piece of crap have less stringent laws than a '94 LT1 MAF SFI?
I'm somewhat curious since I've managed to stuff the LT1 into the RS and have yet to go through emissions. I was due last June but the engine was in tiny pieces in the swiss cheese oil pan! I probably won't get around to going through until the new engine is fully broken in and I get the chance to adjust the tuning/programming.
------------------
1991 RS LT1
every imaginable bolt-on, ungodly LT1 355, and 12 pounds of intercooled boost on it's way in '01
2000 C5 Coupe
black/black 6-spd, optional polished rims, first run 13.056 @ 109.52 stock
"So what DOES the back of a Mustang look like?"

I pass the sniffer easily. Long duration cams have more of a problem, something less the 230 should pass. I have to pass the visual inspection too, which is more of a challange. Heads still have the EGR valve, headers have the AIR on them, I even have to put my stock air cleaner back on for the TAC sensor. Car probably runs cleaner without all the emmissions **** on there...

1984 z28 w/ a 357 cu in. monster engine which is looking like the posterchild for Edelbrock... all the suspension stuff... 9-bolt posi disk is in... K&N filter... 93 octane...

Run an exhaust cut out...so when they put the sniffer to the exhaust pipe it doesn't detect anything!!
