TPI runners
Everyone says the SLP runners are crap if so then why does azriona speed and marine sell accel's that are ported semi siamese just like the SLP's and they say the semi siamese make more HP & TQ than there long tube runners. The SLP's port dia. is just a little smaller than the accel's.SLP's 1.600"-accel's 1.615" so I can't see them killing TQ like everybody says. What do you guys think.

E,
The physics of the situation dictate that shortening the runner effective length does not necessarily cause a loss of torque, but will move it into a higher RPM range. Some of this can be compensated for through cam profile and the resultant overlap and valve timing.
If you have a lower rear gear ratio without a higher stall speed converter or a manual transmission.

I LOVE my SLP runners
I felt no loss of low end torque when I installed them on my L98. Just breathes(sp) better on the top end.
Now I thnk they really help with my ZZ4 with Edlebrock intake.

I just received my SLP's and they look pretty good. I did need to open them up alittle to match the gasket opening correctly. I am deepening the siamezed part a little and widening the opening also to more match the AZS&M runners. They were on sale for $199 and even with $220 in extrude honing, they will be less than the AZS&M runners. Mine did need some work to measure a true 1.60" diameter throughout. I used a carbide cutter followed by abrasive rolls to smooth the finish. I think the work I did will make a difference when I compare the one I finished to the other one which has not been touched yet. If I get them flow tested on my AFR ported base, I will post the results.

You need to look at my website.

Bill Davis is running this system, and even with two bad injectors, he came within .010 seconds of his best-ever E/T. His 60-foot times dropped to 2.08 seconds, so it didn't kill his low-end torque. The people who hate the SLP runners are, I think, forgetting to modify their plenum to match the runner contours. It's important. You have to gasket match these runners to your plenum or else you'll end up with turbulence at the runner opening, which disrupts air flow.
