Yep. .30 over (355) 2VR flat top pistons, dart heads 64cc. melling 22210 cam 70-80 LT1, 1.6 roller rockers, manley aluminum rods, stock intake with adaptor plate (yea I broke my intake swapping engines last time)edel-crock 600 carb, accel distributor, and hooker long tube headers followed by a 3in pipe no cat and ravin muffler. I pulled low to mid 13's last night on street tires pathetic 14's, 4695 ft above sea level so in good old florida no problem laying down 12's. T5, 3.42's and powertrax finishes the rest of the car.

No times yet but high 12's should be attainable.

350,flat top pistons, Pro Action 200 cc heads, XE274 cam, Comp 1.6 roller tip rockers, RPM Airgap intake, 600 Edelbrock carb ( gotta upgrade), T5, 3.42 rear. Like I said, not there yet but should be in it.

This engine wasent intended for street use at one time. It was a ***** to the wall drag engine with a soild cam in my 76. It ran 12's in the truck at altitude. No problem running aluminum rods on the street as of 5 years.

As of now the fuel economy is shocking. A couple weeks ago a quick little trip up I25 neted me near 20MPG highway I avarage 13 city.

Thanks for all the responses, your combo's are really encouraging.
Do you think my combo is capable of running near 12's. I have a
T5 with center force dual friction clutch, stock 3.73 posi rear, 350
with 10.5 to 1 compression, professionally ported Vortec 1.94-1.5
Manley Race-Fo valves, Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap and Holley 770 Street Avenger carb with K&N 14 inch open element. (Don't know if it's going to fit, haven't put the hood back on yet) My exhaust is
Hedman 1 5/8 hedders to two Flowmaster 40 series. My ignition is MSD cap, rotor, coil, module, and wires. My camshaft is the GMPP HOT CAM w/ .525/.525 218-228 on 112. I have stock
15 inch rims and will probably get Nitto V drag radials for the strip.
I know I will need to upgrade the suspension to really hook and
tuning is the key to how well it will run at the track, but I'm hoping for 12's.

Talk to Pony Killer. He's knocking on 11s with a vortec-headed 350 that's got a streetable cam in it. As far as I know, he drives it daily.

Get some traction and with your setup you'll have no problems running 12's. Get some et streets for the strip and a spohn torque arm. I'm not too sure about the Nittos. Most guys around here don't like them very much.

Couldent hurt. The fuel economy is mostly effected by your cam shaft in your case. unfourtualently that cam is what is making all your power.

Do you think if I got a set of Vortec heads machined fro higher lift and a performer RPM vortec intake with a smaller cam I could make more power then what I have now and get better gas milage also?? I have to get the valve guides redone anyways so they are comin off so mayeb I can borrow the money from my pops for some vortecs.
