Performer or Performer RPM

Why does it seem like most of you guys are running performer rpm intakes on your setups that are very similar to mine?.....355, XE268 grind cam, 3.42 gears, 9.1 compression, carb...yadda yadda.....very common type setup.....Are you all pushing your stock bottom ends to 6500 rpm's?.....Just wandering, cause I called edelbrock, and they told me that up to 5500, the performer is a better manifold.....only beyond that is it better.....so are you all pushing past 5500?........Just curious, thanks.

I guess most people here with some mods are.. I was turning my motor to 6800 RPM's with the performer RPM's and a stock bottom end. (I did pay for it after a while though)

the hot rod article that I copied to do my engine buildup showed no benefits from the performer that the performer RPM didnt make up for. I spin to 6000. anything more and I get scared

I spin to 6000+, but not often. The Performer intake can go higher, but I bet the flow is not as good. I needed the EGR stuff...
