Strange "Clicking" sound comming form the carb?

Hey,
I have a Q-jet on my 350 87 camaro and i swear when the air cleaner is off i hear a kind of high pitched clicking sound comming from the carb. at first i thought it was just a linkage rattling around but i put my hand on every moving part on that carb and i still heard the sound. I have thrown a rod before and it sounds nothing like that. but it is bugging the hell outa me.
Any help would be great!
Thanx

Does it do it even when the car is off and the key turned on? if so it is the mixture control solnoid, and don't replace it, if it stops doing this then replace it.

It's supposed to do that. That's how the computer adjusts the mixture. Like the other post said, if it stops, you've got a problem.

A expensive problem, actually if it goes out. I had rebuilt the Q-jet on my '84 T/A recently - I had looked into how much a replacment mixture solenoid would run. Dealer was the only one who had it and they wanted $125 for it. Fortunately I didn't need one, and hopefully you or I won't need one for a loooong time
