Car is acting stupid!!

Aight guys. The 2.8 RS usually runs great and is really reliable, but lately all of a sudden it has just decided not too.

1st we have the car idling at 1,000 RPM which I think is causing me to have to try to start it a few times once in a while. Then we have the car running too hot, just below the red while driving normal. (I have no air dam but it never did this before) Then we have the converter making crazy sounds. (pretty sure it needs replacing) Then we have lousy MPG. Then there's the rich smelling exhaust. I don't drive the car on the highway much, almost never, so once in a while and I mean only once in a while like maybe once a week or so, it'll let some carbon out when I start it up because of all the around town driving. But today I started it and it all of a sudden has a big cam in it and is smoking the entire time instead of idling right. It was slightly below 500 RPM and shaking the car, if I gave it gas it would stall. I gave it a while and it started up right, but idled too high again. It actually stopped the idling BS for a few days and was normal for a while but it came back. It isn't throwing codes either. I got some ideas on whats going on but I wanna hear what you guys think too. Thanks.

Can you get an idle vacuum reading? I'm thinking you may have a significant vacuum leak somewhere, and testing it won't cost you anything.

Yo Vader. I had 2 vaccum leaks. Fixed them and it's still the same. I'm gonna check again today for more but I think there's more to all the problems than just that. I don't have the equiptment to test that stuff myself.
