got an iroc!!(troubles on the way home)
Ok, first of all I got an 87 iroc with 86,000 miles on it. Absolutely beautiful car. On the way home on an interstate going about 60 mph I noticed that the rpms werent going up when i depressed the gas pedal. it would very slowly gain rpms if i featured the gas but if i did anything more I could hear a clicking sound (seemed electrical). Well I pulled over and the car turned off and I drained the battery I tried to start it so many times (imagine how I must have felt, I've been waiting for this day for some time). Could never get it started again with jumpers or adding gas just incase so I had it towed to a gas station down the road where it currently sits. Someone who stopped to help me out thinks its eletrical too and mentioned a module (Im still learning and I am not framiliar with this) as the possible problem. What do you guys think??
Cant wait to get this car home and feeling better, Its so perfect.
Thanks..

Well, first check to see if you have spark. No spark? Check the cap, rotor, ignition module, and pickup coil. You'll need a Digital Multimeter and a service manuel.
If you have spark, time to start testing fuel. For a quick test you can give it a shot of starter fluid and see if it tries to run.
I'd start with the spark personally, its easy to test for and i've had a few of the ignition moduels go bad on me. They really don't like heat.

A car, like a dog.... doesn't always take to it's new owner right away.
Isn't that a bitch! A breakdown on the way home...
If it's FI there's a ALDL connection that you can use to test the fuel pump. See repair manual.

Hey, that stinx man. My 87 Firebird did something similar to that. I was bringing it home from where I bought it and stopped to get gas. When I finally started it up again (I had a brain fart and left it in gear), it spewed coolant all over the place. I ended up stuck there for three hours trying to bypass my broken heater control valve. That was just the beginning. I'm beginning to think it was a sign...
