Drive Shaft somthing or other... HELP!

Just got my new trans in. Start it up adding a ton and ton of fluid cuz it seems to be gone. i dont have a dip stick, so i use my finger...kinda how u check a manual or diff. but with my auto trans cuz i ghetto riged a 6 inch dipstick to keep the fluid in. i Go the start the car and put it in gear... lot's of bad sounds and my shifter is moving My friend put my driveshaft on, only thing that goes wrong and it's not my fault.

well i wonder why the hell my driveshaft is on the ground and i check the retaining clip and bolts... finger loose! and one of the bolts was missing....found it on the floor in my garage.

So, the bearing cups on the rear universal joint booth flu out, i got them both... in good condition i guess. Nothing cracked or what not. So can i just put the bearing cups on and tighten down the 4 bolts and clips and be on my way, or as im thinking they need to be pressed on again so they dont come off? could i just pound them with a hammer a little bit or should i use a vice?

P.S. how much fluide does a 350 TurobHyrdo Non Lockup take dry? i've put probably around 9 quarts in it. does it need more?

nm on it. I need a new rear universal joint. i tried to put it in the rear end and just tighten it down..the one side was fine. the other side wouldnt tighten all the way down, and as i turned it needle bearings were falling out so i dont want to risk it and make it worse. So im going to get somthing... rebuild kit, junk yard Univ. Joint or somthing. i dont have too much money, how much does it cost for a kit or to have someone do it?

25 bucks isn't too bad. I think I need to do this to both of my Universals. I just have to get the $$$ to rent the press from the auto parts store.

About the tranny fluid, I think 9 quarts should do it, unless you emptied the torque converter too, then I would say about 11 quarts.

At least thats what NAPA told my brother?

A TC alone is often good for about 8-10 quarts. Instead of a U-Joint, visit your local salvage yard for a used dip stick. You'll save your transmission.

i got a new u joint and put it in. only 15 bucks, so i got 2. not a bad deal, took a while to figure out how to get them out.... couldnt see the C-clip too easily unless u really look for it and plop it out. Im going to get a dip stick tomorrow. Its full, i put around 11- 11 1/2 quarts in it.
