355, corvette aluminum heads, headers

Okay guys,

I have a 1986 IROC TPI 355, it has corvette aluminum heads, keith smith pistons 10:1, headers, 3 inch flowmaster, airfoil, airbox mod, eldo manifold, stock plenum, stock runners, stock ingintion.

Dyno results: 240 hp
320 tq

My question is what should I do next, i am looking to up my hp mostly. I was thinking about porting the plenum, getting large runners? Any ideas. Is my dyno result low or average. I am in California so please remember that.

Any suggestions would help. I want to get into the low 13's. I have never run the 1/4 but has done my 0-60 on my g-tech (5.9sec)

Should have ported the heads before you put them on. Stock plenum and runners need porting and replacing, respectively. Other than that pick out a good cam and you should be good to go if the trans and suspension are up for it.

You did not say if the cam is stock or not? Those heads need a good bit if work but they can get the job done. Lose the stock TPI and get either a HSR, an accel SR or the TPIS mini ram. If you want make some serious power ,NA, you will have to change the intake.

The cam is the one that came with the engine it is a ZZ3. The suspension is stock and the trans is stock too it is a T5. The corvette heads were pocket ported what ever that means?

I hope thats good. I guess if i change the cam it won't make much of a difference if I don't get a superram right? I think the superram from accel is the only legal one. What about the dyno results are they typical or low. Thanks
