no start help
i have an 85 z 28 with no start problem after engine work. we pulled the engine to regasket it while the trans is out we found a bunch o leaks. so any way.. put enegin back in and no crank. put in new starter crank but no start. then no crank checked starter bad lug replaced starter again, no no start no spark no power to dist, no power windows no blower. horn works flashers ok dash interior lights ok. i checked all the fusable links with a meter and continuity checked good. only one on starter big wire, none on small wire, checked link by battery as good too. also have new battery. any ideas, ingition switch n safety switch, car has been sitting for about a year project car just redid the entire interior a few weeks ago. but this problme has me stumped.
thanks

how many wires?
how many wires on the starter. i get the feeling one is missing. i have 2 big wires one from battery and one that goes somewhere and one small wire. i looked all over and don't think i missed any wires. but still no crank today. it did crank originally and no start that is how i found no power to the cap. where does that wire go is that ign switch?
Car is an 85 z with 305 tpi
Thanks

JW,
You seem to have wiring issues. The ignition coil receives power through the ingition switch. The switch is powered from a couple different sources for its different functions. Backing up a step or two, you need to verify power to the fuse panel and ignition power circuit wires (most of them are orange). Keep your meter handy. This might give you a start (pun intended):
