vacuum leak?
Here is my problem:
When I am at a stop light with my foot on the brake pedal the car wants to stall. If I take my foot off the brake it seems ok. Other than that it runs pretty good.
I am thinking vacuum leak.
Any one else have an opinion?
This is on an '87 T/A with and LB9.
Thanks for your help.

The brake pedal shouldn't have any effect on the engine under normal circumstances so I'm thinking possibly a ruptured power brake booster diaphragm.
Should be a simple problem to diagnose. Take the vacuum hose off the power brake booster and plug it to prevent a vacuum leak. Take a drive. Remember you won't have any power brake assist so leave yourself some extra stopping distance and be prepared for a lot more pedal effort! If the engine stall does not return then you've probably got a bad brake booster.

If, for some reason that doesn't solve your problem, heres a little tip. If you take a propane torch and turn it on but not light it, just let the gas seep out of it, and run it over your vacuum lines with the motor running, any vacuum leaks will suck in the propane causing the engine to idle up. Might help out in the future...
