no spark help don't want to take it to a shop and get ripped
well, the modul can be tested at Discount auto/autozone. only problem is they d not simulate the load/heat under running. as for other problems; I have seen a few modules come bad out of the box. also might see that coil is interrupted. put a test light on the positive side of coil, and have someone crank the engine. if the light flickers, pick up isfunctioning properly, if not, back to the drawing board

what i did to check to see if i had spark is use my dads timing light. if you dont own one, i think they are only like 30 or 40 bucks from summit or your local atuo parts retailer. (please dont quote me on those prices tho)

88,
The coil needs a ground connection to operate, so the HEI amplifier/switch module must be grounded through its connector.
The coil primary resistance should be 0.5-1.5 ohms, and secondary resistance shoudl be between 6,000 and 15,000 ohms.
If you suspect a control problem, you could also disconnect the EST connector for troubleshooting purposes.
