Not exactly third gen related but...

Winter is soon aproaching and my beater is having problems. It's an 84 Corolla FWD. The starter went out on it awhile back, it was just making spinning noises when I tried to start it. I finally got a new Bosch starter for it, but after I get it installed nothing happens at all. Will not spin or anything. I tried hooking the old one back up and it doesn't make noises anymore either.

So basically what i need to know is the general things to check for to find out what wrong with this thing. Please help, I don't want to be push starting myself all winter!

i'd start with checking for power at the starter and working backwards, sounds like you don't have power at the starter to me.
