Edel carb .... car wont run... what gives ?
k i just changed the tbi on my 305 to an edelbrock 600 cfm carburator and edel torker intake and a new HEI distributor was also put in... and well we can get the car runnin every now and then but it smells so rich in fuel.... i still have the pump in the tank but i have a regulator on it and we just can't figure out why its not runnin... going down the road and hittin the gas the car just bogs out and like stops runnin starts chuggin like its starvin gas or bein flooded... but then other times its like it has no fuel and just sits there and turns over and over and over but won't start.... its really got my head spinnin and i need some ideas... also anyone know of an aftermarket linkage plate i could buy that would work on this carb... that braket that holds the cables i had to take my old one and cut it in half cause it was too talll and weld a plate on it and move it ahead and its really rigged up now... and so i don't have cruise control .. had to cut that braket off the plate... and the kickdown isnt on there right cause its shiftin bad and can't get the throttle right .. isn't there just a braket that i can buy thats made for this setup... cause my old tbi one aint workin... hope you can help me ... all the hard work is done now its just fine tunning and the little **** i'm tryi n to get right... thx again...

You can get the right carb cable bracket from a 305 carbed
TA or Camaro in the wreckers.
Better get the TV cable adjustment right or you'll be buying a new trans soon.
There is a tv cable adapter bracket you can buy from edelbrock for their carb. Gets the geometry right.
Ditch the Torker intake. Not the right one at all for a mild 305.
Get a dual plane intake.
Sounds like a problem with the regulator. And /or a serious vacuum leak.
Edelbrocks like 6psi of fuel pressure.
