LOUD ticking noise......

I put headers on a couple months ago along with a custom y pipe, and about a month after that i starter to hear this super loud ticking noise i hear over the entire rumble of the car... i lifted the car up and thought it was from a header bolt on the passenger side, nope all tight and the sound is lower, and is definitly on passenger side, i checked the y pipe and gasket for leak or vibration and nothing, it sounds like its coming from within the bottom or mid passenger side of the engine... what could this be? all the oil levels are good? and i hear the vavles ticking a little so its not that i can hear the difference between them and this tick is super loud like and gets faster when i rev it at idle

n e ideas?

Check the exhaust gasket at the block and the tightness of your bolts into the block.

Yep, for about the first month or so, you will have to tighten the header bolts about 1-2 times a week, so the flange can "set" on the head.

I know you checked (least u said you did) but if the donut-type gasket where the header comes into the y-pipe is rotten/bad, replace them.

Mine needed two new donut gaskets and it stopped the very loud tick from it.

they are the circular metal that crunches togehter when u tighten the bolts n seal up
