Puff of black smoke at Start-up
Edelbrock 600 carb. 92 rs 305.

Possibly be flooding?running rich? or a leaking valve stem seal. Or....bad rings or....?

Probably flooding... but with the engine running, have someone get in a really give 'er **** while you watch the exhaust.. see if any more comes out at WOT.

ive done that, no smoke at all, i figured it was flooding a lil on start up, and hoping it wasnt the valve guide seals, and praying it wasnt rings. so ill start with addressing it with a flooding issue and go from there, was just getting insite before i started in on it.

Its not rings or seals. That would leak in oil, which burns blue, not black. The engine is just getting too much gas.
