Fuel pump makes pumping sound, but no pump.

Is It possible to put an external pump on bypassing the OEM pump so I dont have to remove the tank? My pump sound fine, but doesnt pump. Could it be something else, like a clog? Fuel filter is fine.

Usually if it spins you should get fuel. Pull the filter loose and flick the key a couple times to see if any gas pours out. If not you may have a damaged pickup tube and an external pump wont help any. But yes an extrenal pump (rotary) with at least 6-12 PSI could be used for a TBI setup.
