Does anybody know how to get the code for the 88 cadillacs? Do you just cross two terminals like with the Firebirds and then look up the flashes to see what it means or is it more complicated? I also was wondering if anyone has ever taken a EGR valve apart and weakened the spring to compensate for less back pressure on a modified exhaust system. I'd like to do that but don't want check engine flashing at me for that!

I think its "off" and "warmer" on the CCP (climate control panel). It will flash ECM, BCM, and whatever modules have codes in them.

Yep, those are the buttons. Have to press them at the same time. The codes will display on the fuel panel on the left. I cant remember, but theres a common computer 'fit' type of code, I think its E15 or something, its been a while. Its much like a code 33 on a TPI, but much less of a problem and I never did find a solution. Is it the TBI engine? Cleaning the TBI will help out sometimes, they get pretty dirty. I cant tell you what codes are what, but a couple different Caddy dealers were more than happy to tell me what the codes were.
