Help with mystery motor...
I have the opportunity to purchase a motor...it came out of a 1 ton chevy truck. Its rough shape, it supposedl has 98k on it, but it may make a really good rebuilder motor for my first project, the only numbers i was able to get from the seller are
T0611ctu
He believes that the 11 could be a seperator for t06 and ctu
Any help????
Could be a 400 or 350???

CTU, if correct, is not a truck engine. Truck engine codes start with "T". GM never put 400 SB's in 1 ton trucks. CTU is a valid code for a 1976 Caprice 400 SB engine.

Look for 3 freeze plugs. Thats what gives away a 350 from a 400. the 350 only has 2.
