Are you not concidering a 350? You should be able to get 13s easy with your setup and a 350. Look at what I ran STONE stock with my L98...

350

I was hoping I wouldm't get anyone saying that I should get a 350 Im getting a new WS6 so that is going to be my power car I just want to make this one a little faster.. Probrably going to put a 100 shot on it after the rebuild and heads and all.. That is a very nice run for a stock formula. good job.

hmm i hate to probably say it but you'd be much better off with a 350 i think.

With all that money in the 305, a 350 with slight mods will put you more so ahead.

btw, very nice looking bird, got anymore pictures?

I run low 13's on my 305 consistently with p265 bfg street tires. Naturally aspirated with 3.73's. (with 700r4. no times on the 5spd swap yet though.) You don't have to have a 350 to run low 13's. hehe. The 350 is nice though. Cam, port and polish heads, large valves, performer rpm, holley 600, headers, good ignition. You can run quick and reliably with a 305 for not too much $.
