I have swapped the 305 tbi out of my 90 RS for a 350 TPI from an 88 GTA. The 350 has an oil cooler I am not familiar with and the hanes manual I have dose not address it. I need some info on how it is connected with the cooling system.

 

actually it's more like the cooling system connects to the oil cooler. lines from the radiator go to the cooler, part between the oil filter adapter and block, or part of the oil filter adapter, can't remember now. if it were me i'd not hook it up and if i wanted a cooler i'd by one from permacool.

 

i'd most for sure second that on purchasing one from permacool.

 

The stock system of "cooling oil" sucks. Might as well cool your can of soda by running tubes of warm water around it

 

Which would be fine if the contents of your can were 200+ degrees like your engine oil.

It appears to me that the intent of the factory oil cooler setup isn't necessarily to cool the oil, but to keep it at about the same temperature as the coolant. This means heating it up to operating temperature quicker during cold starts as well as cooling it during normal operation.
