Same place as all the other third gens, directly under the check engine/SES light next to the lower portion of the steering colunm covered by a plate measuring ~1"x2".

I dont imagine the pinouts would be different, either. GM kept that standard. For pinouts, visit: ... uh, I thought I had a web page on that. Well, here's a picture of them, anyway: http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/aldl/8192/8192hw.htm
A is ground
B is the diagnostic terminal
F is the test terminal for torque convertor lockup
I think G is the fuel pump test terminal, but you wouldn't have an electric pump.

I was after the differences in pin-outs between the LG4 engined cars and the TPI vehicles. I have the TPI pin-outs but my LG4 set-up is a little different. I am specifically interested in the serial data-out arrangement so that I can hook up a scan tool.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Perth,
I would imagine that your's are all upside-down, right-handed, or whatever. Or is it mine that is bass-ackward? Whatever...
I []iDO[/i] know that the ECMs were a bit different on export ThirdGens, so the baud rate at least may be different. If I recall correctly, the pinouts and even the ALDL design was different than the domestic units in some years, but I'm not certain when that may have started. We Yanks can be a bit closed-minded about that at times, and I haven't done the necessary research to support any of those thoughts, but they are recollections from things I've read.
You might want to take a look at http://www.geocities.com/ecmguy.geo/...s/do_diag.html
To make sure about the connections and specifications.

Vader - cheers for that info mate. My car [and most 3rd gens over here] came from the US as privately imported LHD vehicles. As such, it was converted to RHD but all ECM functions remain unchanged. Mine has the ALDL connector under the dash on the US driver's side and the ECM is up under the dash on the US passenger's side. Standard locations I believe. The ALDL info I have seen always seems to specify TPI units only, and my ALDL pinouts do not comply with it. I only have connections in the A, B, C, D and F ports.
