Hey guys! I am having this problem w/ my '88 305TBI the last couple of days...seems when I am driving every so often the power would cut off for a split second then back on..just enough to cause hesitation and cut my radio off, and at night sometimes the lights go out (not good)...the car idles great everything else is fine..just acts up every so often...I have new plugs, cap & rotor, and wires..the car only has 60,000 miles on her. The only thing that i changed was put a chip in from TBIchips.com , but that was like 3 months ago and it just recently started doing this, anyway i know u guys know your **** and hopefully can help me out w/ this one...I am stumped!! try this just to see if its your prob...


start the car, and with it running, push down on the steering wheel..... does it die then?


one of my friends had a 91 firebird that died every time he pushed down on the steering wheel enough.... the tilt assmembly wears out and once it does, it can let the wheel move enough to disconnect the ignition switch from the lock when you press on it.. lol.


took him awhile to figure out this "random" dieing he was getting.. lol

 

Anybody have any ideas...I was thinking the ignition module was starting to go on me....help me guys!
