How do I test my EGR or can it be done?
I was putting my intake back on my car today and got to wondering about the EGR and if it
could be bad. I was wondering if their was a way to test it. I did not want to get the car back together and that be a problem. Also, This car had the smog pump removed. I was wondering if their is a right and a wrong way to do away with the smog stuff or not. Thanks for any help.

if you stick your finger(s) under it you'll feel opening. push up on the diaphram should make your engine stumble. i think you could use a vacumn pump and do the same thing.

Also, be sure the EGR passages aren't full of carbon and soot. Even if the EGR valve works and pushing up on it causes a rough idle--if the passages are clogged, you'll still get the inevitable pinging while you're on the road.
