Average life of a rebuild??
I was just sitting here today thinking about how much money I'm spending on my car right now and I began to wonder how long my new engine should last if I don't beat the hell out of it. Anyone else that has build their own engine please let me know what kind of mileage you have seen from it. Thanks

There's no reason that a rebuild with parts of equal quality to stock (not hard to do, as I'm sure you've noticed) can't last as long as a new motor would.
I personally have had my own rebuilds last well in excess of 100k miles, even with significant abuse.

I rebuilt a 1978 Ford 300 inline six 8 years ago. It has the VERY RARE Edelbrock intake and Isky street cam. I sold the truck 3 years ago. It's been 140,000 miles since the rebuild and still going strong! The total miles on that F-100 is 250,000!

This is definately what I wanted to hear. I was worried that my baby would begin to deteriorate after like 60K and I would have to do it all again.
