Details On Switch Over .... Whatd You Do ?
hey all... ya ya i switched tbi to carb... 305 TBI tooo... Edelbrock 600cfm and crap and so forth... question... in order for me to attach my cruise control do I need to buy that bolt on plate from edelbrock... i saw it on there website, it said bolt on plate for cruise control on chevy's... so it kinda seems like you need it right... well i went ahead and got it and all i got was a plate and like 10-14 screws and bolts and nuts... no instructions at all.... HOW THE HECK do you put it all on the carb... i don't even know where to start putting the bolts and nuts and crap... if anyone has some detailed instructions with a diagram or has a picture of what theres looks like i'd love you forever... J/K but i'd be very gratefull...
also, like someone mentioned before... they have problems keeping a steady fuel pressure... now I havn't checked my pressure yet with a guage and watched it so i'm not for sure yet but this guy was sayin he can't keep steady pressure even with the mallory 4309 regulator... he said the pump won't keep a constant pump, steady flow... now that sounds typical for these cars... but that shouldn't mess with the regulator should it... someone also said if your making the switch over you need to run a 12volt hot wire to the tank or take the tank power wire and wire it to a on off power source so its always pumping at full power or whatever too keep a steady flow and so you can make proper adjustments on the regulator and hold them constant....
ya i know thats alotta writing and bla bla but when you get to this point of the conversion things don't get easier.. they get more complicated and take more time thats why i'm coming to you guys... the guys with the expiariance and knowledge to help me.... thanks for your time... sure thise was a long one and i'll be postin here soon... all replies welcome and wanted... need input to straighten out all the hear say i've been told... later
