I was just wondering what your guys' input is on Microsoft Desktop Dyno. Do you think it is accurate or not... worth the time or no...and I would really like to hear from anyone that has used it before they biuld an engine and then dynoed that engine and how accurate the numbers were.

I've used DD2000 for awhile now. I've never had a car dynoed to compare though. There will probably be a few people who will say that it's projected numbers are a bit optimistic but I can't say either way. What I mainly use mine for is comparing different cam specs in the same engine setup and what the effect on HP and TQ numbers are, along with cylinder pressures.

Its fairly accurate but it does tend to be a bit optimistic in my opinion. It can never be fully accurate because some of the inputs are too vague, like header tube size and intake manifold selection. It also doesn't do a good job of showing when a motor is over cammed or overcarburated so be careful to stay realistic with those choices. Overall its a good tool and I like using it. DD2000 will give you a general idea of how much power to expect and it is good for comparing different cams or other parts on the same engine.
