Testing sensors
Testing sensors
I was wondering if I can test my coolant sensor and 02 sensor with my fluke meter. If so what should I get if the sensors are OK. I want to check as many of these sensors and other stuff before I get the car back together to keep from having many start up troubles. Also I ohmed my injectors and they read between 15.9 and 16.4. I read on another post that they should be within .3-.4 of one another. Is this correct?
One last question. Is the coolant sensor one of the sensors on the front of the intake on my TPI. If so which one is it and what is the other one? The reason I am wondering about this sensor in particular is that my temp. gauge in my dash reads real high. I replaced the sending unit because I did not beleive the reading and I still got a real high reading(I don't really remeber the temp.). Since I have used a mechanical gauge and got what I believed is a true reading of around 200 I think. I read in another post that this sensor if not working properly will cause run ability problems. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

as much as i dislike chiltons manuals, they're better than nothing. i was looking at one the other night for my 91 escort (don't crucify me, i drive 200 miles round trip to work) and it was explaining how to use a dvom (multi meter) to test sensors and stuff. you might check one out
