Why do I get 8 mpg?

I get about 8.3 mpg on the streets and 13 on the highway?? Any ideas...an all stock 50k mile L98.

Geez, could be a hundred things.

Your ignition's shot. Your ECM is running in limp-home mode, the timing is severely retarded, your catalytic converter is plugged up, your heat riser is stuck open, your air filter is plugged, there's massive blow-by because of worn-out rings, could be from lugging around that 300lb girlfriend still stuck in the back seat...
