Octane Requirements
Is static compression ratio the only factor considered in determining minimum octane requirements? Or are there other factors I'm unaware of?
The reason I'm asking is because I recently lowered my compression to 8.4 to 1 (I will be running at least 20-psig boost). When I race at the track, I'll be using at least 100+ octane fuel. But on a daily basis when I do not go into boost, what octane fuel can I theoretically get away with?

Depends on a lot of factors but you should be able to run on
92 octane gas on the street if you lower the boost to about 10psi,
and retard the timing a little under boost.
You'll still make plenty of street power at 10psi.
An intercooled motor can get away with more boost on the same octane and make more power.
Water/alcohol injection will get you about 14psi on the street.
recommend 110 octane for the track.
