Anybody know how much V6 and 4cyl springs lower a V8 car?
Anybody know how much V6 and 4cyl springs lower a V8 car?
Just wondering, because this seems like an economical way to get the right front stance I'm looking for.

You might get the stance you're looking for but the spring coefficient (its resistance to movement) will be lower. You will lose performance-wise in cornering and over bumps basically tossing your car around like its a big station wagon. V8 springs are tighter just to support the larger weight of the engine.

I appreciate your concern, but I would like to know what the amount of drop is for the different type of springs. If you noticed my signature, the camaro is not setup for cornering, so I don't care about that.

i have an originally v6 car to a tpi305.
i have kept the v6 springs so far in the front. don't expect any noticable change in the lowness of the car. the back springs are even less noticable. v6 to iroc springs diddn't change height at all.
BUT, with the v6 springs the weight transfer is awsome for drag racing. my car really rears back on take-off. and i only have front v-6 springs.
i would go v6 in front and 4banger in the back for the best take-off.
if you want a lower stance you can cut your springs or just buy some lowering springs.

After I break out the digital camera my wife is getting for x-mas. I'll send you pic of my bird. By the way with my 4cyl springs my birds front struts are bottomed out. But it does transfer weight like SOB.

For drag racing you want stiffer springs up front. Get 4cyl or v6 springs for the rear, but get some WS6's or something for the front.
