Non GM questions
Alrigt, 2 questions here.
First is for an 89 grand marquis, its my winter car alright. Occasionally after i exit the car i hear a buzzing-hissing sound coming for the rear axle or the tires. I thought it was mechanical, but wan't sure. well i heard it the other night and the next morning the batt was completely dead. Im thinking that its the fuel pump, that it isn't shutting off.
Secondly, the second question is for an 86 mustang, it broke down today. the car was cranking over. so either no spark or gas, sprayed some starting fluid in there and it started for a second. So no gas- im figuring that for this car the fuel pump just won't pump. anything else it may be though? blocked fuel filter some thing else?
any and all thoughts are welcome.

160 stat,
A what? A Grand Marquis? A MERCURY Grand Marquis??? You want us to answer questions about a FORD product?!?!?!
Oh, OK. Fine.
On the Merc- yeah, you got a sticky fuel pump relay, probably. My buddy's F-150 had that problem and did exactly what you describe.
Sounds like the other car, which shall remain nameless
, has the opposite problem- a dead fuel pump. Simialr to a GM car when you first turn the key to the ON position the fuel pump should fire up for a few seconds. If you can't hear it running, its probably your problem, would be my first guess.
