Plz help...Gawd I feel so stoopid

I am in process of finishing rebuild on 305 sbc (with p/s oil stick) for an '85 Camaro. Installing misc sensors now. Installed oil pressure sender next to dist no prob. However, I have not been able to install the oil pressure switch located directly above the oil filter on the d/s of the block bcuz the diameter of this threaded hole is definitely too large for the 'prescribed' replacement sensors that I've purchased. I know that 'something' is supposed to go there bcuz this threaded hole goes all the way thru the block. This is the only threaded hole located directly over the oil filter that goes into the block. This has to be what its for. This is so insane..lol...after everything that I've done in being so careful, it just figures that I would run into this prob toward the end...lol
I've checked and rechecked ur forum for anyone with a similar and have been unable to find....but, I guess *** (in his infinite wisdom) has decided to reserve this problem especially for me...rofl

Please help. Does this even make sense?

Thanks

Sounds like you need to go to the hardware store and get a pipe bushing of the appropriate size, probably 1/2" x 3/8", but I'm not positive about the size.... it will look something like this
