Valve spring questions
Ive got AFR heads with the stock valvesprings they send. My cam is a 503 Xtreme grind. 224/230 dur and 503/510''. My valves are starting to float around 6300-6400. I will be switching to a LT1 intake soon and now I will want to turn more. First off anyone know the specs on my stock AFR springs and what springs are people using with no valve float on a higher revving car with a cam similar to mine.
Thanks
Chris

wow, your reving it awefully high for a cam that size... i run a xr288 cam- 110lsa, 236/242dur @ 050, and 520/540 lift, and i make peak power around 6100...
comp has a roller spring package, those are the biggest springs you can put on a hydrolic roller lifter before you need a rev kit to extend the rpm range or solid lifters...

I agree, 987s would be a good choice and will fit the heads directly. The K-Motion garbage that AFR puts on their heads is your problem. I wonder when they're going to wake up and realize that the one single thing that upsets people the most about their product is the crappy valve springs they put on them.
