whats this wire?

I just did some work to my Camaro. While putting it back together I noticed a red wire coming from my passenger side front fender. It's long enough to reach the battery.I dont remember disconnecting it.What is it and what does it attach to?Sorry theres no pics.

red wire all by itself not in a loom or anything? looks non factory? i would guess look in the dash where your radio is or where and amp could of been placed. I would expect it to be an unused power wire for an old stereo. or maybe your current radio it is still used for memory or constant power.

what type of connection ending does it have? a male/female-like? something that would go over a top-post battery?

I have one like that in my car on the passenger side too. It was for the hood light.

Ok...it starts over the fender and out from the firewall.I guess it may have been tucked away pretty good because I've never noticed it and it really clean. The end is kind of a flat circle, like maybe it goes between a screwhead and something else.
TPIgirl...does the above sound like your hoodlight? My hoodlight works though

Nope, yours sounds like something someone has added for a stereo or foglights.

yeah for sure sounds like an power wire for an amp. Of if the cable was long enough it could have been an old power wire for a battery in the trunk. put a test light on it n see if its getting juice?
