Engine: 305 ho v8 stock
Transmission: 700r4
black smoke and black spot

well i just got my 84 t/a going again its been down for a few months. when i started it today i got a large puff of black smoke and also got a black spot on the ground from my pipes. is this a sign of something is going to be going out soon or what. any advice would be helpful.

The black smoke and the spot is carbon(C). From what I can tell I would say your exhaust is going(cat-back or headers or cat) most likely the cat. Ask for more advice though.

You live down south like me so it's probably just moisture from sitting along with the carbon buildup. It should go away though. If not, you may have a rich condition creating too much carbon buildup.
