HELP!, Won't start when hot.

My 89 5.7 TPI won't start when hot unless I unplug the coolant temperature sensor. I replaced the CTS and plug, soldered the connections. Still doing it. I'm stumped, Please help!

Where's your base timing at?

If you have it advanced too far, it could be causing problems. I believe that when the engine is warm the computer will give it more timing then when cold, and when you unplug the CTS it doesn't know what temp it is and gives it little advance.

The engine will crank pretty hard if this is your problem.

Good Luck!
