Because you get pistons with the coresponding change in compression height, so that the piston ends up in the same place.

he's correct. you don't just switch rods without switching pistons. if you didn't, you'd have a piston meeting the cylinder head. 6 inch rods do allow you to run a bit higher compression than the 5.7 rod without detonation though.

Thanks guys. Reason i asked is b/c i just read a post about a guy if he should use 5.7 or 6.0 rods and thy said nothing about using a different set of pistons than the ones he was going to use.

nope, when i first got it, it was only good for 16.3. planning to break into the 14's before winter. i've also pulled off a 2.137 60' with it.
