People in the NJ area...

Im looking for a good junkyard. everything sucks around the central jersey area, they never have anything good (as in a 4th gen w/ a T56 or a salvageable third gen for any kinds of parts) my main thing is the T56 though. do you guys know where i might find it??

moderators...maybe this isnt the right board but i dont know where to post this, and besides i will get the best response here

If you go to any of the local junkyards they should have a computer network for all the yards in the state. They can track down the parts you're looking for and sometimes even have them delivered to the salvage yard closest to your house.

South Plainfied Auto Salvage. Exit 4 from 287. They can get you anything you want, they are part of that salvage network and can get parts from anywhere in the east coast. Did you check All American in Avenel? I believe they will be able to locate a T56 for you.

CamaroZ85, I've crawled around quite a few, and I've never seen a T56. I've also never seen a 4th gen in a yard. Actually I've never seen an f-body newer than 88-89. I've only seen one TPI 350. I doubt this is cheering you up... I'm starting to think about checking out Pennsylvania. I hear the pick-a-part yards are great sources... I think around us, the auto body shops nab all the 3rd gens & 4th gens that they "think" they can repair or use for parts.

I went to All America once- they just had old stuff, but that was 3 years ago.

I got to the U-pull-it yards in PA. Sometimes they have really good stuuf but the cars have been raped the next time I went. You really have to go weekly to get good stuff.

WOW, you guys hit the nail on the head, I live on the norther Jersey shore and I travel all the way to South Jersey for my job, and Im always looking for parts and to date Ive never been able to salvage anything...I have tried those "network" yards and Im still waiting for results, I think my first request was placed about 3 years ago---go figure...I have seen a few wrecks (3rd generation Camaro) but either their toast, or pre-scavenged
I hope someone knows a place out here, and it makes me wonder...Where do Camaro's go when they die???
thanks
