car doesn't have to start to get codes, actually it's not good thing to start car with jumper in the aldl. there are no codes associated with the fuel pump if that's where you were leading. check with a test light where you do have power that should confirm or eliminate the relay. have you checked the fuse

i know that but every time i have a qwestion everbody is always asking about codes.p.s. the only reason i say cant get codes because car wont start is because i cleared the ecm memory and no codes will appear untill the car runs for at least 30 seconds again.

The car doesn;t have to run for 30sec to get codes...at least not mine. I just had some huge problems with my FP system as well. were you getting any codes before you cleared them? Simply due to the heat build up, sounds like you have a ground problem of some sort.

You mentioned that you didn;t have any power to the FP..at what point in the circuit did you test the voltage?

One more thing, were there any symptoms that led up to this problem?

ok some stuff changed. i was testing the wrong sensor stupid me but it still made no difference the sensor i was messing with was the maf power relay so that is the one heating up (maybe my maf sensor is good after all!) and when i jumper the fuel pump relay the maf power relay clicks. does this help you guys any?please help!
