hot starts are a *****!!!!
well the subject pretty much says it...i have to crank and crank when i start the motor hot. give it a little gas...crank some more...i get the best results if i press it once and hold the petal to the floor to start it. but i hate doing that because it usually revvs the crap out of the motor when its first starting and i hate to do that to oil starved bearings. when it does start, it runs like crap and i usually have to gas it up a bit to get it normal. it's a carbed motor, edelbrock 600cfm and a regular old vac advance distributor. also dont have an egr. new mech fuel pump...clean filter...cant think of much else, what do you guys think?

Car: 84 Z28
Engine: 355 (fastburn heads, LT4 HOT cam)
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 9-bolt, 3.27
Does it crank really slowly when hot? If so, the first thing I would look at is backing off the timing. If you have it too far advanced, it could cause this very problem.

Awaiting results from all 8 ASE tests.
Starting to look like the Kicker poster child!

had this same problem with my older car with holley 650..... when i shut off the car.... gas would still be filling in the carb.. i could see the vapors.... check the float sight holes... it might be set too high. gas should just trickle out when level!!... hope this might help!!
