Cam suggestions for a near stock LG4?

I'd like some suggestions on a cam since I've never paid attention to anything less than a 350(except for imports). What would be considered a radical cam for a 305?

What cam would you suggest for the following combination:

1 5/8 headers
Performer 600cfm carb
Performer intake
------------------

I don't really want to put heads or anything else on since I'm trying to build another engine on the side.

Thanks

I threw a 204/214 @0.05 (.420/.442 lift) in my LG4 and now it seems like a V8 My car is basically otherwise stock except for headers, catback, accel supercoil, and a crane cams adj. advance curve kit.

A radical cam for a 305 would be Comp cams 262 grind (218/224 with about .470 lift). Carb engines can get away with more duration then FI can IMO, so going with either a tighter LSA or longer duration wouldn't be a bad thing. It depends on what you want from this engine... low end grunt or top end screamer. I would think with a longer duration cam, you would really want a converter to go with it... especially in a heavier car. You really can't go wrong with a short duration/ high lift cam for midrange power (ie-street car). While you may not have to invest in a new torque converter, you may have to get better springs and porting really helps.

Read my sig below. I like my comp cams XE262H. Check out my web site for WAV files of the idle quality, zero to 60, and Hooker Aerochamber. This cam needs a torque converter, or a 5-speed, however. I'm turning 14 flat at nearly 101 MPH with my 305 and this cam. http://www.isthq.com/~dan/fcar.html

you might consider the eldebrock performer cam (or a similar grind) as it is designed to work with the manifold and carb you listed...
