O2 sensor

Will an unplugged O2 sensor affect my car's driving performance in any way?

Its safe to say that it WILL affect performance in a bad way. I can definitely say that you will get the SES light. The computer will not know what fuel adjustments to make and will dump too much fuel into the engine. This can make the engine knock and eventually plug your cat conv. And if VA is an emissions state you will never pass. The O2 sensor is vital in computerized cars with emissons. Suggest you leave it be unless you are gonna switch to a carb.

It will affect drivability and start causing other problems in the near future... is there a reason you want to do this to a part that can be changed for around $40???

Ok, well the car has a carb on it, but it is the stock quadrajet, just didn't want to hook up the O2 sensor on account of being lazy (I hate those butt connections!)
