A good reminder for everyone....

Hey guys, just wanted to remind everybody that it's a good idea to mark your parts somehow before you take them to the machine shop. I almost didn't do this, now in retrospect I'm damn glad I did! I went today to pick up my block and crank, and they handed me the wrong crank. Luckily, I stamped my initials in the front throw of the crank, and the oil pan rail of the block. It reminded me that you can't be too careful about things like that. Just thought I'd pass along this tip to the rest of you engine builders out there!

Guess you can always use a small punch to write your initials on it or something.

Hell, I marked my mechanical pencil because they kept developing legs and walking away. You should see the look on people's faces when you confront them about your property and show them you name engraved on it. (I got carried away one day with an engraver).

And yes, I even did that to my chair. Now when someone says "Does it have your name on it"? I flip it over and say "Yes it does"!

Ya know, I never really thought about that! I really don't have much to worry about personally, because our shop is my machine shop second biggest customer, and if they screw it up, they will make it right. I like to think they won't though, they haven't yet!

Block is in shop!

Awaiting results from all 8 ASE tests.

LMAO Glenn. I know exactly how you feel! The idea for your chair is perfect!
