I want to know what everyone thinks of this cam swap. When I put my XE268 cam I changed the stock vortec springs to the recommended Comp 981's. They recommend .490 lift but the springs don't bind untill like .550. I am going to put the LT4 HOT cam in my motor BUT I will only be using my 1.5 ROCKERS which will give me .492 lift on the intake and exhaust. Will this be ok for a 5600 redline? Will the springs handle the roller profile with 1.5 rockers ok? Need opinions.

 

there's a big differance in springs for a flat cam and a roller, i doubt your springs will work. there's more to the 5600 max rpm than cam, like induction system. what do you have
