Tuned Port Injection question...

Should the gaskets that attach the intake air tubes to the plenum be coated with an RTV/Sealant??? Am in the process of reinstalling them after removal.

No. The only RTV the intakes should see is the front and rear of the lower intake, where it meets the block in between the heads. No where else is needed.

How about loctite for the fasteners, since they do come loose after some time in service.

Should not be needed, but if you feel that strongly about it, go ahead.

One other suggestion. You should use either liquid pipe thread sealant or RTV on the threads of your lower intake manifold bolts(intake to cylinder head). These bolt holes can sometimes pump oil or coolant onto your intake manifold without using sealer on the threads.

Pat: After much debate I decided to use medium grade locktite on the bolts that attach the intake to the heads. I new I had to seal the leak and figured that locking the bolts in place was a good idea seeing how heat and vibration can loosen them. Am wondering if I should replace the injector orings (I have another post on this) and whether or not to use sealant on the fuel line interface with the rail (upper line to manifold line). Thanks for your advice.

SGuy,

Forget about sealant on the fuel lines, since the fittings are 'O' ringed flares. If you use good 'O' rings, no sealant should be necessary and may actually interfere with a good seal.
