are the gauges computer controlled?
are the gauges computer controlled?
84 Z28 L69... what would happen if I yanked the computer? would the gauges and ignition still work? the reason I ask is my wiring harness is shot and I cant find another, so I am thingink of yanking the computer while I am swapping my 355 into the car.

Gages, no effect, don't go through the computer.
Ignition, yes. With the factory distributor, that is.
There are numerous posts about what it takes to go computerless. Shouldn't take long for you to find some of them here, and on the Motor Swap forum. Some of them even have the good reasons not to do it.
One of our advertisers with a button on the top of the page could likely come up with a good replacement harness for you.
