gasket sealer headache..

alright heres the big question between the red rtv, the grey rtv, 3m weatherstrip adhesive and the spray gasket which worked pretty well on my trans pan by the way; what should be used for what application? and what have you guys used succesfully and would continue using. i have to do my engine oil pan gasket, rearend gasket, and valve cover gaskets. (if possible list whatever you guys have used for anything i guess, for future knowledge) and lastly any extra comments you have about the spray gasket and its applications would be appreciated , it seems to be the most user freindly and id like to know what else i can use it for.

Thanks alot guys

machined surfaces usually needs nothing. i like very thin layer of ultracopper rtv on any pan. i use high tack to stick anythnig in place i don't want moving, pst on any fastener going to water, k&w copper in spray can on head and long intake gaskets, also use permatex copper sealer in brush top can for a few gaskets, any rtv i use is ultracopper
